How to arrive

From Kathmandu:
  • by bus:
The bus trip between Kathmandu and Pokhara take six to eight hours, depanding on the condition of the road.
Public buses from Kathmandu: day/nithg Rs 300/330. Faster microbuses for Rs 450.
  • by plane:
There are flights to Kathmandu several times a day, with:

From Indian border:

The closest border crossing to Pokharas is Sunauli, which is just south of the town of Bhairawa.

Shops, hotels and border office accept indian and nepali rupees at fixed rate of 1.6 nepali rupees to one indian rupee.

There are no direct buses from India to Nepal, everyone has to change buses at te border.
Buses leave regularly from both Sunauli and Bhairawa: day/night Rs 450, seven to nine hours.

There is only one international airport in Nepal, is in Kathmandu.
There are no direct flights to Pokhara, one must first fly to Kathmandu.
